An olive tree in a pot

Even in the north of Europe, a small olive tree can be kept well if you protect it from the frost. Olive trees are not very demanding and are the perfect gift even for people who claim not to have a green finger. They grow very slowly, flower beautifully and may even make a few olives at some point. You can then pickle them and enjoy them in winter.
